DNX and DNXC Current-Limiting Capacitor Fuses, 2.8kV to 38kV
DNX fuses are DENCO's current-limiting, clip-style capacitor fuses, rated 2.8kV to 38kV and 1C to 140C with a 50kA interrupting rating. DNXC fuses are full-range, current-limiting capacitor fuses for bus bar to lead mounting, rated 8.3kV to 23kV and 10A to 65A at 50kA. A DNX fuse melts in 1000 seconds at 1.7 to 2.4 times its C number.

DNX catalog numbers carry the voltage class and C range: DNX2 at 2.8kV, DNX4 at 4.3kV, DNX5 at 5.5kV, DNX8 at 8.3kV, DNX15 at 15.5kV, DNX23 at 23kV and DNX27 at 27kV, with a 38kV size above that. Each voltage is split into two or three C ranges, for example DNX8-1C to 12C, 15C to 40C and 50C to 140C. The body diameter listed is a maximum, and threaded end studs are also available.
DNXC fuses are listed by individual rating, from DNXC8-10 to DNXC23-25, with an approximate weight for each. They were tested at IPH to IEC 60282-1: 2009-10 and IEC 60282-2: 2008-04. The catalog requires temperature derating when a DNXC fuse runs in ambient conditions above 25°C, using the printed formula based on the maximum ambient the fuse will see.
